Toph Bei Fong-The Blind Bandit

Instantly, this photo caught my eye and I knew I had to take a closer look. I am absolutely thrilled with this cosplay and photo itself.

The pose is spectacular. Great choice for the character. The outfit is well done and the hair... oh the hair. I am a noobie when it comes to cosplay. I have only done two so far but the one thing I have noticed is that for every cosplay, it is the hair that can make or break the cosplay. Your hair is perfect. Absolutely perfect. Add that with the facial expression and you have a winner.

The technical aspects of the photo are done well too. Sending the background out of focus was a good choice. It keeps our attention on the subject. Perhaps it wasn't intentional but I like how the background is about the same colors as the subject. It actually makes for an interesting mood. Also, another notable success is the light. Shooting outside can be so difficult with the light you are given. Most prefer to not have a harsh or direct light but I think in this piece, it does justice. With the harsh light, the subject stands out from the similarly colored background as well as reflecting the character's personality.
